“Museum of Nature” is a painting based project consisting in a series of oil on canvas of different dimensions. Initially the project starts as a series of photographs taken at the former Museum of Nature in Tirana/Albania, a neglected building that unfortunately make its artifacts look “desperate” rather than fascinating.In a first stage a careful selection from the series was made by the artist, creating this way the gallery of single subjects to be paint. Each of the selected pictures becomes the source for the painting process; they maintain the original composition and are “portraits”,” figures”, and interiors. The transferring process from, photographs into paintings is a synthetic one, the artist research now is purely focused on visual and pictorial aspect of the process .In this point he is, out of the photographs and out of the museum. He paints autonomous (still but complex) subjects which are proud, beautiful, mysterious, alone, wrapped by the light which gives to them a timeless dimension through painting. Alketa Kurrizo
